Closed-Circuit Television Empty

With recent increases in crime, many countries have taken the experimental route of closed-circuit television. This offers authorities the ability to monitor the public in an effort to reduce crime through security cameras placed in public areas. However, some people find it to be a violation of their privacy.

CCTV is a massive invasion of privacy and is thus a breach of my constitutional right to confidentiality.

Closed-circuit television is now in the streets of the United Kingdom and parts of the Americas. These cameras don't only not fulfill their purpose and ensure the safety of the population, but they also provide Big Brother surveillance? Yes, what I said back there is true: They prevent as little as 3% of crimes. You're being denied your civil liberties when you can be watched at any second and asked by a robotic voice to pick up your trash if you litter or be apprehended for exhibiting anti-social behaviour from drinking, for example. What is the future world? Will it be full of totalitarian states such as Soviet countries or Oceania in the book Ninety-Eighty Four by George Orwell? Right now, I can certainly assert that the future looks grim, especially since the main objective of most governments is for personal wealth rather than for high human development like in the Nordic countries and Canada.

Closed-circuit television is spreading rapidly and hints that the future of the world may hold far less freedom than we're used to having. It's like a disease, really. *shudders*
